What is the difference between The Al Turner Company “Groups” and “Divisions”?
There are two primary differences:
1) the Groups main function is design and operations whereas the Divisions main function is production;
2) the Groups are staffed with full time, permanent part time, and some revolving positions whereas the Divisions have permanent staff but have primarily revolving project specific positions.
Why use the word “creative” in the names of each Group?
Creativity is required in ALL positions at The Al Turner Company. It is easy to know the nuts and bolts of any position, but to be resourceful and efficient you have to think creatively.
What does it take to be part of one the Groups?
Present a clear understanding of your major position within the Group that you are applying. The most experienced person is NOT always hired – be courageous and have a great attitude. We like to see the hidden talents you have as well. When applying for a position think about all the areas you might be able to contribute. We are looking for folks who know their multiple talents.
What do you mean by a “major” and “minor” position?
A major position is the job you will work at 80-90% of the time – such as a concept artist or accountant or CEO. A minor position is the job you will do about 10-20% of the time – such as up-dating a web page, arranging a speaker, or cleaning up the break room.
Why have a major and minor position?
Three reasons:
1) keeping people involved with multiple aspects of the company;
2) gives everyone a break from the routine of the day;
3) allows for exploration of those secondary talents.
Does everyone in the Groups work at the main office or are there any out off site positions available?
Most all positions are at the main office - is important in what we do to have that daily continuity. We do, however, encourage and make available a certain amount of telecommuting whenever possible in most all positions.
Do the Groups work outside companies on projects or is everything done inside the Al Turner Company?
As a rule, most the Groups work starts and is completed in house. There are circumstances when outside companies are used for Group work but it is usually VERY focused and short term.

How do I submit an idea for review?
At this time we are not in a position to work with unsolicited outside ideas; however, do keep dreaming. Write it all down and see what YOU can do with it. Watch the Opportunities section of this site as an opening or business opportunity might arise. Believe in your idea and a whole world will open up.
