Informacore, one The Al Turner Company's three main operating groups, is our information and communication nerve center. Informacore's tasks include: building, maintaining, and archiving all drawings, notes, and reference materials; keeping all internet and intranet functions running smoothly; setting up and operating all company training.
Some of the resources available to staff through Informacore are:
- An extensive book library on topics from biology to philosophy; thermodynamics to farm management; Irish fairly tales to interior design.
- A patent library containing all the amusement patents since 1955. This is up-dated monthly.
- An industry database of companies and firms participating in our industry and related industries.
- Periodicals from Amusement Business to Log Home to Forbes – past and present issues. Also, online access to a periodical database of articles as far back as twenty years.
The Chief of Informacore heads up this operating group which positions include:
Librarians
Archivists
Researchers
Web Designers
Computer Technicians
It is important to note that everyone at The Al Turner Company has a major job and a minor job. For example, a librarian (major position) might also have the task of leading a class once a week (minor position), or a researcher (major position) might have the task of producing flyers for the company's private events (minor position). This method has worked well and allows for cross-training while keeping everyone integrated and knowledgeable about what we're doing.
“Our Operation philosophy…
Keep it Simple and Streamlined.”
